Grounds and Gardens

 

A pillared entryway leads guests down Merrywood's long drive to a large circular green. Step out of your car and find yourself In the serenity of a beautiful wooded area overlooking the small New England town of Simsbury. No neighbors in sight, only occasional wild turkeys and deer.

Gardens are planted with a variety of conifers, seasonal flowers and ornamental grasses.

During the summer months, guests can enjoy the gardens, hike in the woods or just relax on the outdoor patio or on one of the many benches and watch the birds and chipmunks frolic.
Winter is silent and serene. During this time it is especially restful to sit in the lower terrace bench while the warm winter sun illuminates the tall pines surrounding the property.
